Monica Mutale

Bio

Monica Mutale is a freelance journalist and communications professional based in Halifax, N.S. With a strong foundation in storytelling and a deep commitment to community engagement, she focuses on amplifying diverse voices and covering issues that matter most to her community.

Monica earned her Bachelor of Journalism (Honours) degree from the University of King’s College in 2013. Her passion for cultural stories and community-driven issues led her to take on leadership roles in student and community organizations.

Though she has primarily worked in communications since graduating, Monica continues to embrace writing opportunities in her community. As a versatile freelancer, she has contributed to outlets such as CBC, the University of King’s College, and the Dalhousie Gazette. Her work covers a wide range of topics, including education, arts, sports, race and immigrant experiences. Monica is known for her ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate deeply with her audience.

In 2016, Monica was honoured as a notable alumna by the University of King’s College for her commitment to community leadership.
