1919 Magazine is an independent critical and editorial publication actively providing spaces for young Black and racialized people to see themselves and their experiences reflected. Our magazine welcomes work from artists and writers at every phase of their journey (especially the beginning). Our magazine publishes works that allow artists, cultural workers, students, writers, and youth to amplify their voice and open a space for dialogue, recognition, and learning in our communities.

Afros in tha City

Afros In Tha City is the only media collective of its kind - dedicated to amplifying Black voices in Mohkínstsis/Calgary. Afros In Tha City stories centre Black lives, promote community, and serve as a resource for Black youth. Learn more about Afros In Tha City here.

AfroToronto.com is a vibrant one-stop online hub providing the latest in both Toronto and international Black community features and news from original articles, podcast episodes, and various curated sources. The site focuses on the arts, books, culture, lifestyle, community, and business. From 2021, we've also become a bilingual space (English and French).

Black Ottawa Scene

Black Ottawa Scene is a web-based monthly volunteer-run photo-news magazine published out of Canada’s national capital city and showcasing events organized by persons of African descent, or in which they play a pivotal or leadership role.

A juicy slice of Caribbean film culture. juliemango.tv is a media platform built to explore the cultural impact of Caribbean film and television. We produce editorial content that turns a cultural lens on classic and modern Caribbean storytelling through articles and videos on our site, and our original unscripted video series.

The juliemango.tv mission is to build an ecosystem that strengthens the conversations around narrative works from the region and Diaspora. By leading meaningful cultural film discourse focused on how issues affecting the Caribbean experience are presented in film, juliemango.tv extends and enhance the viewing experience for audiences of Caribbean film.

Melanistic Magazine

Melanistic Magazine is Canada's Premier Print Urban Lifestyle Zine that is dedicated to amplifying voices from Black Communities across Canada. Montreal Community Contact

Montreal Community Contact was established in 1992 and is a newspaper serving Quebec’s Black and Caribbean community. Published every two weeks, The CONTACT is a powerhouse of news and information on a growing and dynamic community.
