Janella Milord Ashford

Bio

Janella Jhamesha Milord Ashford, is a 21 year old news coordinator, journalist and news presenter.

In October 2019, Janella was granted a position for News Coordinator at CHUO 89.1 FM, an independent radio station for the University of Ottawa in Ontario,  Canada.

Janella’s been doing radio since high school at the same station, coordinating a weekly show.

Since COVID-19, she’s been working from home, creating and reporting daily newscasts both in french and english.

As a news coordinator, her job is to onboard and train people who like to contribute to the station so they can create and report newscasts themselves.

Because of the experience she’s gained as a writer for CHUO, she now writes content and does live reporting at events for SHIFTER Magazine, an online Black Canadian and urban culture magazine.

While Janella expands her career as an entertainment reporter, she is also completing her 2nd year of College at Algonquin College in Business Management and Entrepreneurship.
